Examining the book of Ephesians part 2



Introduction

a.                   Recap
b.                  We have examined the purpose of Ephesians, how the church was established, what I a saint.

I.       It is all in Christ
  1. Everything to do with our salvation come from God through Christ and is only found in Christ
  2. Not how many times the Ephesians uses the term in Christ
(Ephesians 1:1 )
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:

(Ephesians 1:3 )
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

(Ephesians 1:10 )
That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:

(Ephesians 1:12 )
That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.


(Ephesians 2:5-6 )
Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

(Ephesians 2:10 )
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

(Ephesians 2:12-13 )
That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.


11.     Chosen, Predestinated, Elected
Eph 1:4  According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Eph 1:5  Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
Eph 1:6  To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
1.    foreordained: decided in advance
2.         foreordained by God or a deity: decided and decreed by in advance by God, a deity, or fate[1]
a.                   Anyone reading the Book of Ephesians with an honest heart cannot fail to believe the sovereignty God in salvation
b.                  The bible does not teach decisional salvation. Salvation. For Salvation is not man’s choice but God’s

c.                   Your name was not written in the book of life when you decided to be a Christian it was there from before the foundation of the earth.
Rev 13:8  And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world

Rev 17:8  The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

d.                  All those that were chosen will respond
e.                   Acts 13:46 notice verse 48
Act 13:48  And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.
f.                    The word ordained means to decree (an official order)
Joh 6:37-39  All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
g.                   Paul in was chosen verse read Acts 9: form verse 11
Act 9:15  But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
h.                   Jesus only prayed for the elect
Joh 17:9  I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.

(2 Timothy 2:10)
Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

Election
2.    transitive verb decide to do something: to make a decision to do something
3.    transitive verb RELIGION choose somebody for salvation: to choose somebody by divine will for salvation
4.         intransitive and transitive verb US choose something: to choose or select something, particularly a subject or course to study at university • He elected French as his main subject.[2]
Some do not like the fact that God as an elect people that he as chosen.  But the bible over and over again calls us the elect.

And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.

And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

In Salvation it is God that chooses, God Elect and God’s Decision

Isa 45:4  For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.

Joh 15:16  Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

Joh 15:19  If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

2Th 2:13  But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
